Kannon and Monk Present: Chillin Like a Villain Vol. 8
Monk is the man. My dude stays on his grind, always got another project in the works, always plotting away like Dr. Claw, even when he’s telling you “I gotta take a break right now, seriously.” We all know he’s telling the truth: he does need to take a break. But it’s hard to be so supportive when he’s dropping the latest installment of Chillin Like a Villain with his boy Kannon.
The title is appropriate; laid back hip-hop and R&B tracks to cool out to. I’ve always been a fan, and get excited when I know there’s a new CLAV in the works, and this one does not disappoint. I’d like to tell you which tracks are my favorite so far, but that would mean this mixtape is hyping me up, and it is not; it is cooling me out. 8 volumes deep? These guys know what they’re doing.
It’s the right kind of weather when you can roll down the windows, cruise on a warm Spring night and absorb the music. Turn up your iPod on your front steps, or just sit back after a long day and melt into your seat. However you need to do it, download and enjoy. Then give the link to your people, ‘cause villainy is universal.
